(Crisis Supporter Workplace Training)
National Provider Number 88036
Lifeline Canberra exists to support people in crisis and save the lives of those experiencing thoughts of suicide. Each day our trained volunteers speak with almost 100 callers; mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters. Despite our every effort, we lose one Canberran to suicide every week. We believe this is preventable.
Help save lives and build a more resilient, suicide-free Australia - become a Lifeline Canberra Telephone Crisis Support volunteer.
If you have an interest in or love for books, this could be a great volunteer opportunity for you.
There are support roles as well as book processing roles available and Warehouse volunteers are needed all year round.
Up to 100 volunteers are needed to ensure that each Bookfair runs smoothly. There are a variety of jobs and usually something can be found to match capabilities of any volunteer.
We are currently seeking volunteers to help with our 2017 February Epic Bookfair - the biggest Bookfair in Canberra's history!
Jobs include setting up tables, moving boxes of books and other sale items, tallying purchases, taking payments, staffing the cloakroom and clearing at the end of each Bookfair. We also need volunteers to put out road signs before the Bookfair and traffic marshals to help direct cars in the parking area.
We have a volunteer break room with tea, coffee, cakes, slices and lunch provided.
Rattling tins, sizzling sausages, selling merchandise - sounds like fun, right! At Lifeline Canberra, we need volunteers to help out at fundraising events - from sporting events to awareness activites.
