Donating Books and Other Items
Each year, the Lifeline Canberra Bookfair recycles up to 1 million books - many to our Bookfairs, many to other charities, and to paper recycling. Your continuing donations keep our telephone-based crisis counselling service going. Thank you.
What?
We accept clean books, comics, magazines and pamphlets, encyclopaedias (pre-1940 or the last 20 years only, please), sheet music, maps and atlases, calendars and postcards, records, CDs, DVDs, talking books, puzzles, board games, computer software and games for current operating systems. Materials in languages other than English are welcome. Please do not bring damaged items.
A3 boxes are also very useful.
Where?
Please drop books off at our warehouse at 40 Heffernan St, Mitchell, ACT (02 6241 2901). The warehouse is at the roundabout at the intersection of Heffernan and Brookes Streets, opposite the shopping centre. Entry is via Heffernan Street; drop off is at the back of the carpark. Map
