Donating Books

Each year, Lifeline Canberra gives over 1 million books a new home through our Bookfairs and Book Lovers Lane bookshop. These sales provide a major portion of the funds needed to run the 13 11 14 crisis support line in Canberra.

Please take a moment to read what we are able to accept – we appreciate your support and understanding with this.

We accept all clean books (except Readers Digest Condensed books), comics, magazines (click here for the magazines we are currently accepting) and pamphlets, encyclopedias (pre-1940 or the last 20 years only), sheet music, maps and atlases, calendars and postcards, stamps and trading cards, records, CDs, DVDs (no ex-rentals from school / public library), talking books, puzzles, board games and models, collectable card games, war gaming and miniatures, computer software and games for current and historic operating systems. Materials in languages other than English are welcome.

We cannot accept cassette tapes, VHS tapes, catalogues and textbooks with highlighting/marking. We also kindly ask you to please read through the checklist for how to bring your donations to us.
