Welcome to Lifeline Canberra
On this site you can find out more about the range of services that we provide to the ACT region
community, how to access them, and how to become involved as
a telephone counsellor volunteer with Lifeline. Our mission is to enhance the well being
of the community through the provision of counselling and counselling
related services, the core of which is a 24 hour crisis telephone
counselling service.
Lifeline Canberra has been operating since 1971. We are part of a national and international network of telephone counselling centres. There are 41 centres located in Australia and 236 around the world.

commences.
Bookfair
A major portion of the funding required to keep our telephone
counselling lines available to the community comes from the
sale of donated second-hand books (plus records, tapes, comics,
maps, CDs, DVDs, jigsaws, magazines, calendars etc) at our
bookfairs in Autumn and Spring each year.
