Volunteer

By volunteering for Lifeline not only will you be making a difference to the lives of other Australians who use the Lifeline services, but you’ll also be enriching your own life.

It takes a lot of dedicated people to provide Lifeline's telephone crisis support services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, across Australia. Lifeline Canberra relies on support from the community to answer the crisis support line, raise funds and run the iconic Bookfair events.

Out of the Shadows

Posted in Building Community Resilience

World Suicide Prevention Day 10 September

Lifeline Canberra would like to invite the community to come together on World Suicide Prevention Day to walk Out of the Shadows and into the Light.

Out of the Shadows is a free community event held to remember people who have lost their lives to suicide. It also provides an opportunity to discuss suicide prevention openly, in a supportive environment.

The Canberra walk will be held on Sunday, 10 September from 5.40am. We will gather on the steps of the Australian War Memorial and hear a tribute to those lost. As the sun rises, we will walk down Anzac Parade and back.

Poppy's cafe will be open for breakfast after the walk.
