Lifeline is a Registered Training Organisation able to offer nationally accredited qualifications including Certificate III and IV in Telephone Counselling.
Telephone Counsellors
Twice a year, Lifeline Canberra offers a comprehensive Initial
Counsellor Development Program (ICDP) for volunteers. We have developed
a sought after and highly valued program offering specialised counselling
skills (including the ASIST training). The training is rigorous
and focused towards effective crisis counselling over the telephone.
In addition, all our counsellors undertake ongoing counsellor development
training to ensure that their skills continue to improve.

Customised Training & Professional Development
Lifeline provides specialist, customised telephone and face to face counselling training. Many community and government services now provide telephone support services to the communities they serve, our training programs are ideal for these agencies. We also offer debriefing and supervision services to community and welfare organisations. We are able to tailor communication skills course to the needs of our clients. This is a growing area of work for our service and one we receive great satisfaction from providing.
