Donating to Lifeline

bulletWhy Donate to Lifeline?

Lifeline encourages individuals and businesses to make a donation because we hope to create opportunities for all Australians to help give troubled Australian fellows the healing experience of being heard.

We assist people in need with difficulties like depression, anxiety and hopelessness which too often leads to relationship breakdowns, addictive behaviors, drug and alcohol abuse, financial problems and sometimes suicidal behaviour.

Your donations will in turn create accessible pathways to care through our vital services and activities that offer healthy choices and relieve suffering — restoring mind, spirit and relationships back to both yourself and your communities.

bulletDonations of Money

Donations of money can be made online or by calling the Lifeline Canberra office on (02) 6247 0655 during business hours.

bulletBook Donations

Donations for our Bookfair may include books, magazines, games, records, tapes, comics, maps, CDs, DVDs, jigsaws, calendars.

If possible, please drop donations off at our Mitchell warehouse (66 Heffernan St). The best time is any Saturday afternoon when there will be volunteers available to help you unload.

Alternatively, you can take donations to the Queanbeyan library, or call the Lifeline Canberra office on (02) 6247 0655 to get alternative drop-off points or to arrange for them to be picked up.

bulletOther Donations

In 2008 Lifeline Canberra is building a special purpose book-sorting facility at Mitchell on land donated by the ACT government. Apart from the significant capital cost of the building (approximately $1.5 million) Lifeline Canberra is currently seeking some specific items for the new facility. These include:

- a van or small truck for collecting book donations
- tables for the bookfair
- tables for the new warehouse
- computers for the new warehouse
- trolleys for the warehouse
- forklift for the warehouse
- plastic crates for moving books around the warehouse

To make an offer or sponsorship arrangement for the above items email office@act.lifeline.org.au or call the Lifeline Canberra office on (02) 6247 0655 during business hours and talk to the marketing manager.
