Lifeline Canberra Bookfairs

A major portion of the funding required to keep our telephone counselling lines available to the community comes from the sale of donated books (plus magazines, games, records, tapes, comics, maps, CDs, DVDs, jigsaws, calendars) at our bookfairs in autumn and spring each year.

Donating Books

Each year the Lifeline Canberra Bookfair recycles up to 1 million books - many to our bookfairs, many to other charities, and many to paper recycling. Your continuing donations keep us going. Thank you.

If possible, please drop books off at our new warehouse at 40 Heffernan St, Mitchell, A. C. T. telephone 02-62 41 2901 . The one-storey building is located at the roundabout at the intersection of Heffernan and Brookes Streets opposite the shopping centre. Entry is via Heffernan Street. The best time is any Saturday afternoon when there will be volunteers available to help you unload. Alternatively, you can take them to the Queanbeyan library, or call the Lifeline Canberra office on 62470655 to get other possible drop-off points or to arrange for them to be picked up at a time convenient to you.
