Bookfair

bulletLifeline Canberra Bookfairs

A major portion of the funding required to keep our telephone counselling lines available to the community comes from the sale of donated books (plus magazines, games, records, tapes, comics, maps, CDs, DVDs, jigsaws, calendars) at our bookfairs in autumn and spring each year.

Below is a table showing details about a typical Bookfair. Further information about the collections in a Bookfair can be obtained by following the links in the table.

Collections No. of Items Thurs Fri Sat Sun Location
Main Sale 150,000+ Yes Yes Yes Yes Budawang Pavilion
Rare Books approx 1,000 Yes Yes Yes No Kakadu Room

The Centenary of Scouting in Australia will be celebrated on Sunday 10am - 3 pm.

Note: This September the Sunday will be an all day clearance sale of stock held within the Budawang Pavilion.

bulletDonating Books

Each year the Lifeline Canberra Bookfair recycles up to 1 million books - many to our bookfairs, many to other charities, and many to paper recycling. Your continuing donations keep us going.  Thank you.

If possible, please drop them off at our warehouse at 66 Heffernan St, Mitchell. The best time is any Saturday afternoon when there will be volunteers available to help you unload. Alternatively, you can take them to the Queanbeyan library, or call the Lifeline Canberra office on 62470655 to get other possible drop-off points or to arrange for them to be picked up at a time convenient to you.

bulletNext Bookfair Dates

The next Lifeline Bookfair will be held at EPIC on September 25, 26, 27 and 28 2008 at the following times:

Thursday, 10am-5pm
Friday, 10am-6pm
Saturday, 10am-4pm
Sunday, 10am-4pm

Planning ahead? Here are the future dates for bookfairs to 2011.
