Becoming a Bookfair Volunteer

If you have an interest in or love for books, this could be a great volunteer opportunity for you.

Contact us if you are interested in helping at the Bookfairs, held two or three times a year, or more often at the Bookfair Sorting and Storage Facility - 'the warehouse'.

At the Warehouse

Volunteers are needed all year round for activities which include sorting, pricing and packing books; computer based searches and record keeping and a variety of logistic and support tasks. Contact the Lifeline Canberra Warehouse on 6241 2901 or email us

At the Bookfairs

Up to 100 volunteers are needed to ensure that each Bookfair runs smoothly.  Jobs include setting up tables; moving boxes of books and other sale items; tallying purchases; staffing the cloakroom; assisting with catering to keep volunteer energy levels high; and clearing up at the end of the Bookfair.
